How to Green it Up!!!

Green is the buzzword these days, but how do you go about being green? How much does it help you? Can you really save money? How much about going green is about being cool? Do you really NEED to be doing this or is it just the trendy thing to do? Since these are all questions I have asked myself, I thought others might have some of the same questions. I won't bore you and answer everything in one post, but I am going to work hard over the next few weeks to answer these questions. If you think of something specific you would like to know, please leave a comment and I will try my hardest to find an answer for you.

The landscaping and hardscaping industries are all aflutter with information about the green industry. Basically the movement is going towards making buildings more sustainable and less wasteful. But, "How does this affect me?"...isn't that always the million dollar question? In tough economic times people need to know that going green is going to pay off for them. Sure, it's great to help the environment, but if you can't feed your family after installing an expensive super-duper wind turbine with no wind blowing...you see where I'm going...but that just isn't the case anymore. 

What if you could put in a system of pavers that collected rainwater runoff which in turn watered your lawn with that same rainwater runoff? Now, THAT'S something worth talking about!!! Those are the things we are able to do now. It's a whole new ballgame.
