We're in full swing now

What to put in this post! Oh my gosh! I could really write a LONG post with all the stuff that is going on right now, but I don't want to bore anyone when there is so much to do righ now. So, here is just a little of what is going on...

First, we helped with a vignette at the Fantasy of Trees here in Knoxville. This is the third time I have helped out with Fantasy of Trees in some way. What a great cause! Scott loved it becasue he got to drive the truck around inside of the convention center. 

We had a great time doing this. Everyone is always so happy and festive there. I'm sure there are behind the scene times when everyone isn't so happy, but I've never seen it while I was there. 

Next, we have some excited news for the Holiday Open House. Brian from

Northshore Brasserie is going to bring down some goodies for snacking. 

Have you eaten there? We had our Thanksgiving dinner there, and it was so good! Brian and his sister Stephanie do such a wonderful job. You really feel like you are just hanging out with family  yet getting some incredible food.

Ok, well I will leave it at that for now. Oh oh oh!!! A lot of people who have bought trees have told us that they are following this blog, so I wanted to say hi to everyone, so, "hi". Thanks for following. Leave a comment and let me know who you are.

It's that Time of Year

Wreaths and trees that can be planted came in this weekend. The cut Christmas trees get here on Wednesday. We are already taking orders for custom decorating jobs and big trees. Call us at 692-0052 to make an appointment.

Our Big Job

OK, so I told you I would let you know about our big hardscape job. We are doing the 2009 Symphony House which is located in beautiful Jefferson Park subdivision. If you have not taken the time to drive through this new development, you really need to. A new subdivision with large mature trees? I know, it's hard to believe! There is a great article coming out about the entire development in the upcoming CityView magazine. Be sure to check it out. Not only is this a great development with wonderful plans for incredible amenities, but all of the people involed are simply top-notch. Here are some early pictures of the work that we are doing.

You'll have to pardon the quality of the pictures. I took these with my phone. I'll be posting more pictures as the job continues. I also want to give a huge shout out to our guys working on this job. It is so cold right now and they are working right through it. Thanks guys! You do a wonderful job!!

I'm Always Cold!!!

Some may say that I am in the wrong business. Here I am sitting in a cold work trailer with my feet freezing! At least I have cable television and wireless internet. I went to school to be an interior designer for cryin' out loud!!! Now I am OUTSIDE most of the time. Isn't that the OPPOSITE of interior design. I know I'm not the smartest girl out there....but I'm pretty sure it's not the same thing.

You see, the thought of working outside in people's yards had never crossed my mind. Why would it? I'm an inside girl. I don't go camping, and I buy hiking boots because I think they are "cute" not for their utility value. I drove a Jeep for 6 years and put it in 4 wheel drive a couple of times when I was driving across a particularly high, grassy yard. Then I met a man who sold plants for a living and everything changed.

He said, "Hey, you make things look pretty on the inside. Just change that to the outside." Well, that's easy enough. Why didn't I think of that!? Actually, it has worked out pretty well (except for days when my feet get cold--and that's a lot right now). I still get to use that creative side, and I get to play in the dirt. I like to think that I can help people add a "soft" side to their yard. I like for things to be homey & pretty. In the end....isn't that what we all want? 

Well, I guess I need to go back outside now, my feet have warmed up. I am going to take some pictures of our latest project to show you. It's a BIG project that we are really excited about. I just hope I can stay warm enough to click those pictures. : )

Time is Flying

We have been so busy! Christmas trees get here in two weeks. No, I am not kidding! Two weeks. The guys are working on some hardscape jobs right now (and no I don't have pictures yet...it's been raining) and we are really working hard on getting the nursery ready for the Christmas trees. 

We have Linda Talley with StudioLRT coming to take the Santa pictures. Last year a lot of people used the pictures for their Christmas cards so we thought we would get a real pro to come in and help us out.

It's Raining It's Pouring

What a day to be home in bed curled up reading a good book. Alicia  has a list of some good books to read. She also has a good looking sandwich post today. Yummy! I might have to try that one. Good books AND good rainy weather food. Her blog was the first one I found. I didn't even know what a blog was until I saw hers, and now she has her own book coming out. I'm really excited for her (and I don't even know her).  She tells us all about what is going on in her life, so you really feel like you are friends with her through her posts.

I did make a Kinko's run today to get the posters printed up. They do look pretty good if I do say so. I haven't put any out yet since it is raining and I don't want them to get rained on before anyone even sees them. We will have them up at the nursery, so we should get to talk a lot about the reindeer this weekend. 

Have I told you where these reindeer live? They live right here in Rocky Hill. How fun is that? Kyle (one of Santa's very important elves) takes care of the reindeer and will bring them (and even a sleigh) to your place of business or event. He has clients all over the country. Here is a picture of the sleigh he brought to us last year. A lot of people were able to get some great pictures for their Christmas cards last year.
